BCM  (Graduate school in Biochemistry, Cell biology and Microbiology)

The Graduate School has as task to accommodate and train PhD students in the field of Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Virology and Parasitology, all areas where molecular biology is the common tool.

Chairman : Prof. Fred Opperdoes (opperdoes@trop.ucl.ac.be)

Vice chairman : Prof. Pierre Courtoy (courtoy@cell.ucl.ac.be)

Secretary : Prof. Frédéric Lemaigre (lemaigre@horm.ucl.ac.be)

Administrative secretary : Mr R. Gomes da Silva (gomes@anim.ucl.ac.be).

The constituting laboratories of the BCM Graduate School all carry out basic research within three different departments of the Faculty of Medicine. Many of them make an integral part of the "Christian de Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology" (ICP), or the "Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research" (LICR) . Together these laboratories, are located on the Brussels campus of the UCL, allowing a close interaction of various disciplines, common equipment, exchange of ideas and techniques, and provide a wide variety of supplementary theoretical formation in the form of post-graduate courses, seminars and journal clubs.
